video challenge: your video marketing strategy

The Crafting an MBA video challenge is winding down (but there are still 5 days left to upload your videos to YouTube with the tag “craftMBA”) but that doesn’t mean you should stop creating video.  Instead, now is a good time to think about your long-term video marketing strategy.

Your video strategy starts with identifying your goals, which will then help you determine the kinds of videos you want to create.  In today’s video, I share some of the goals you might have, and what kinds of videos you’ll make to achieve those goals:

Just like any other marketing strategy for your business, you’ll have more success when you know what it is you’re hoping to achieve.

Are you hoping to use video to improve your sales conversions, increase customer engagement, establish authority, or bring in traffic?  Each of these goals requires a different strategy for creating video.

My goal in creating the Crafting an MBA video challenge was to encourage people to make more videos, because video is such a valuable tool for promoting your business online.  I wanted to get people over the fear of creating video and help them get more comfortable.

But now that you’re comfortable, it’s time to focus on creating a solid strategy to help you achieve the results you desire.

So get out there, make some videos, and don’t forget to upload them to YouTube with the tag “craftMBA”!

  1. Megan, Very well said. Ioved the examples you gave. it really game me a lot of clarity. I know atleast for me, trying to say too much or achieve too many goals at once can make the whole process confusing and impossible to complete. I can see how just shooting for one goal in the video process can simplify things. Not only in video production but in all our online efforts.

  2. Thank you very much for your great idea. I have just added the tag to my first two videos I created recently about my work. Watching your videos now 🙂
