I bought my first iPhone in 2007. At the time, my primary revenue streams were craft shows and Etsy. I bought an iPhone so I could keep track of the second while I was away at the first.
I never met Steve Jobs, yet the impact he had on my life and business cannot be understated.
As the days and weeks go by, we’ll see a flurry of posts about the business, design, and life lessons we can take from Jobs and Apple. And there are so many of them.
But today, what I want to express is simply gratitude.
It’s so easy to get caught up in the day to day frustrations of running my business that I forget how incredibly lucky I am.
I get to wake up every day and live life on my own terms, doing what I love.
This is the world that Steve Jobs envisioned. And this is the world that he created.
Would I still be able to have this business without Steve Jobs? Who can say? But I know for sure I wouldn’t be able to do it with the ease or comfort that I currently do.
Thank you, Steve, for giving an identity to an entire group of creative people and for making it possible to follow my dreams. I am eternally grateful.
